ACCOMPLISHMENTS
During the past ten years, the Bonita Bay Veterans Council has made over 2,400 donations to benefit Veterans and their families in Lee and Collier Counties, with rent, utilities, car repairs, transportation, home improvements, funeral costs, medicines, daycare, and more. In honor of our accomplishments, Governor Rick Scott presented the “Florida State Service Medal” to our Veteran Members.
We are proudly partnered with:
- Community Cooperative to sponsor 2 monthly “Mobile Food Pantries” at the Cape Coral VA, averaging 150 Veterans receiving a two-week supply of food and necessities.
- FGCU, Bonita Springs and Estero High Schools to offer scholarships to deserving Veterans and their immediate families.
- Golden Paws to help match our service dog “Trooper” to a disabled vet.
- Veterans Entrepreneurial Program to support FGCU vets starting a business.
- “Habitat for Humanity” in Lee and Collier Counties, to provide housing for Veterans and their families.
- “One Bonita Bay” to provide Scholarships to Veteran employees or their immediate families, of the Community Association, the Club or the Marina.
In total, using over 98.5% of contributions, we have positively impacted over 9,000 Veterans and their families.
