Summer in Southwest Florida brings the promise of long days, sunshine, and plenty of opportunities to enjoy outdoor activities. Whether you’re looking to perfect your swing on the golf course, engage in friendly competition on the pickleball courts, or rally on the tennis courts, we’re here to help you beat the summer heat. Here is a list of five tips to help you make the most of this summer:
- Early Bird Gets the Cool Breeze: Take advantage of the cooler morning hours by scheduling your outdoor activities for the early hours. The hottest part of the day is between 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. so try and schedule a round of golf or reserve a court in the earlier part of the day.
- Hydration Station: Staying hydrated is paramount when participating in outdoor activities, especially in the Florida heat. Carry a reusable water bottle and make it a habit to take regular sips throughout your game or match. Our club facilities are also equipped with hydration stations in case you forget your water bottle or need a refill.
- Dress the Part: Opt for lightweight, breathable clothing that wicks away moisture and allows for optimal airflow. Our pro shops offer a wide selection of clothing that will help keep you cool. Don’t forget to apply sunscreen generously where your skin is not protected by clothes.
- Strategic Breaks: Incorporate strategic breaks into your play to give yourself time to cool down and recharge. Seek shade whenever possible, whether it’s under a tree canopy on the golf course or in the shaded seating areas near the tennis and pickleball courts. Use this time to hydrate, reapply sunscreen, and catch your breath before diving back into the action.
- Stay Cool Indoors: Sometimes, the best way to beat the heat is by taking a break indoors. Retreat to our clubhouse where you can relax in air-conditioned comfort while enjoying a refreshing beverage or a delicious meal from our dining facilities.
With these tips in mind, you’re well-equipped to beat the heat and make the most of your summer days at Bonita Bay Club!
