This year marks a significant milestone for Becky Salaun, the Director of Communication as she completes 25 years at Bonita Bay Club. From her early beginnings in the Food and Beverage department to becoming an integral part of the club’s communications team, Becky’s journey has been nothing short of remarkable.
Becky’s career at Bonita Bay Club began in 1999 when she joined the Food and Beverage team. As a member of the Food and Beverage team, she gained invaluable experience and insight into the club’s culture, its members, and the importance of communication in fostering a positive atmosphere.
During the Club’s turnover to member ownership, Becky transitioned to Communications and IT. Her involvement with the Turnover Committee during this time provided a deeper connection to the Club’s efforts and allowed her to play an instrumental role in shaping how the club communicates with its members.

Transforming Club Communications
One of Becky’s proudest achievements over the years has been her ability to evolve the club’s communication methods. Early on, she recognized the need to adapt to changing technologies and communication channels to stay connected with members.
“When I first stepped into communications, email was just beginning to emerge as a communication channel, and many members were reluctant to use it. The environment has changed immensely since those days! From social media, blogs, and podcasts, who knew?
I take pride in elevating our communications through in-house video production and photography. Back in 2008, I worked solo, but now my team has expanded to include Kaylee and Jonathan, for whom I’m extremely thankful,” Becky reflects.
Over the years, Becky’s role has continued to evolve. One of the biggest changes came when IT responsibilities were separated from her role. After overseeing both communications and IT for 15 years, Becky was able to focus more on enhancing the communications approach and to work on a strategic level. This shift has allowed her to develop new ideas and implement new initiatives, helping the club to stay ahead of the curve in an ever-changing digital landscape.
“Though changes happen quickly, I find them energizing, and I maintain enthusiasm for my work. The members and outstanding leadership have been crucial to my longevity. They inspire me to excel continuously. That has always been my goal!”
